Happy October Sistah Girls! Fall, or autumn if you’re fancy, is my favorite season of the year. I like the medium-cold weather, wearing cozy clothes, and getting into atmospheric reads.

Check out my October TBR (to be read) featuring fantasy romances. These picks range from sweet romances to intense urban fantasy.

Witchful Thinking by Celestine Martin

Lucinda Caraway lives in a magical seaside town and lives a charming life until she is hexed to say yes to everything, no matter what. Her hex forces her to help her high school crush with his own magical problem.

I want to read this because of the sweet vibes the description gives off and because of the beautiful cover.

A Ghost in Shining Armor by Therese Beharrie

Gemma can see ghosts and likes to help them move on, but this time a ghost is helping her settle unfinished business. This is a cozy paranormal romance with a focus on mental health and strong communication.

I read the first book in this duology, And They Lived Happily Ever After: A Magical OwnVoices RomCom, which follows Gemma’s twin sister. The first book had a very sweet romance and I want to read more about the sisters’ relationship.

Love at First Stake: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy by Mila Nicks

Charlotte starts her dream job of taking over her dad’s bookshop, but a wrench is thrown into her plans when a vampire appears in her store’s occult section.

She has to babysit this vampire, deal with supernatural shenanigans in her town, and deal with an evil Vampire King.

House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson

Nothing says October like a vampire book. Marion lives in the slums and uses the first opportunity she finds to leave that life; she applies to be a bloodmaid for Countess Lisavet.

When the other bloodmaids start to go missing Marion is caught up in a dangerous game. This is a gothic tale that has feminist themes and a f/f romance.

Hidden In Darkness (A Seven Realms Book Book 1) by S.J. Stewart

Melas is some sort of supernatural being, but her memories have been erased and she has a daughter to protect. There is a mysterious predator after her and she doesn’t know who to trust.

This is on my TBR more for the thrilling vibes and the mystery. I’ve heard it has excellent world-building and action scenes, and this feels like a great pick for October when I’m craving a read with high stakes.

That’s all from me! What are you planning on reading this month? Let us know in the comments…
