Black Romance Novels

Black romance is thriving, and we honor the authors who pour their time, talent, and heart into telling stories that reflect us and our love.

Each year, our Black Romance list becomes a signature wrap-up here at the Sistah Girls Book Club. What started years ago with a few thoughtful tweaks has grown into a trusted guide highlighting standout titles you may have missed and introducing you to new and emerging authors in the genre.

My mission with this list hasn’t changed: to celebrate Black love stories, spotlight authors, and keep our community informed about the latest and greatest in romance.

So without further delay, let’s get into the Big, Beautiful List. Yes, I did that on purpose.

Inside, you’ll find fifty novels for your reading pleasure. Some may already be on your radar, others might be brand new to you.

This is just a curated sampling of the books I truly enjoyed last year, and I’m confident you’ll find something that keeps you turning pages.

Now let’s dig in…

Lost In Your Presence (Evermore Series Book 4) by BriAnn Danae

81eqHIx6VXL. SL1500

Lost In Your Presence (Evermore Series Book 4) by BriAnn Danae gets our adrenaline flowing with this story. The story was released mid-summer in 2025, and wow! If we only knew. Anyway, this story is also part of a series. It is a musical story with a romance so unexpected yet easy to relate to.

If You Love Me by Kimberly Brown

810wuBO5bqL. SL1500

If you have not read anything by Kimberly Brown, you are in for a treat with this one. Trust me.. Wink, wink. You will be drawn to fall in love again with romance, and you will devour the storyline. Tyrion and Evenie’s story was nicely written.

The mental health story was delicately managed. It had well-developed characters and a tight story. Evenie was kidnapped and held captive for ten years, and that is just the crux of this story. You need to read this one with an open mind.

Friction: Touch (Reverie Book 1) by Christina C. Jones

91S6bYVdX1L. SL1500

Christina C. Jones released three Top-tier books last year that you should not miss. Friction: Touch (Reverie Book 1), Private Agenda: Heights Chronicles, and she ended the year with a comical romance called Definitely NOT a Thing. Sistah Girls, you cannot go wrong with either of these books.

Dope Boys: Most Wanted by Aubree Pynn

819HcjMd3cL. SL1500

This is a short continuation of the Homecoming SZN books. The story is erotic and a super sexy, short romance. Sistah Girls, you should also read Dope Boys: Most Wanted. The story is a full-length book, and you will need to strap in for this one.

Royce: The Handler (The Grey List Book 6) by Grey Huffington

71xNtZDPLgL. SL1500

Grey Huffington gives readers new meaning to power, prowess, and pragmatism in the female character’s role in her books. Roulette, The Madam, Rome, The Ballerina, and Royce, The Handler.

Sistah Girls, this group of women is the cream of the crop, and if you do not know, they are connected to the mastermind known as Chemistry. The featured are part of the nine female siblings in his tribe. That should explain their lethality and ingrained wisdom.

In the Safety’s Zone: Desperados Book Seven by Dandridge Monroe

918OHP0Th5L. SL1500

The Safety’s Zone: Desperados Book 7, and The Running Back’s Reverse: Desperados Book Eight, by Dandridge Monroe. If you like a sports story with a lot of romantic elements and strong characters, this series is for you.

You should start with book one in the series to better understand the storyline. Mostly, you will enjoy the camaraderie between the teammates, the team leadership, and the leading characters in each book. The women are something else, and the men love vigorously. You were warned.

Daring to Love You (Priestly Family) by Sharon C. Cooper

81RjHgJ4TSL. SL1500

Daring to Love You: Priestly Family Series and Surrendering To You: Priestly Family Series by Sharon C. Cooper. This year, I read more series than I can recall in several years.

A second-chance romance will always have me coming back for more. Both books in this series featured Priestly siblings finding their happy conclusion. Again, I recommend that readers start with book one for a better understanding of the storyline.

This Side of Beautiful by Tiye

71iR8jiOF8L. SL1500

This Side of Beautiful and The Comfort of a Man by Tiye. Both books were phenomenal pieces of magic written in fine print over my heart. I had to take a moment to compartmentalize my feelings after completing This Side of Beautiful.

Every time I see this title, it reminds me that sometimes a girl needs the comfort of her man. Tiye did an amazing job having readers travel through a relationship journey, and you will clutch your pearls a lot.

Promises Are Forever by K.C. Mills

81boFXK1efL. SL1500

Promises Are Forever is a nice version of the arranged marriage trope. Some of the storyline had a ruthless side with the way the leading man treated the captured woman, who would later become his bride.

The leading woman was given away by her dad to pay his debt. And the drama will keep you locked in the storyline. You should also read Emergence and Ascendance (The Collective Book 3); it’s the latest release.

I Changed For You by Rayne Skye

71kH7wNgp2L. SL1500

New Author Alert! It is always delightful to find a new author and a delightful story as well. In this story, we watched Elianna Marshall navigate changes in her life, including Melijah, a former friend who was willing to help her deal with her newfound predicament.

Won’t Keep You Waiting (Armani Sisters Book 1) by T’Lyn

71SJme5P JL. SL1500

Won’t Keep You Waiting (Armani Sisters Book1) and The Fine Print by T`Lyn. Both books are different and uniquely interesting romantic storylines with lots of emotional situations.

Won’t Keep You Waiting was a chef’s kiss and a very relevant story about China Armani, a school teacher at Anario’s daughter’s school. Anario’s bad boy reputation added to the risk he faced with securing the woman of his dreams. China’s story is the first in the series.

All This Love by Natisha Raynor

810oO8MjguL. SL1500

Natisha Raynor is one to watch in the coming years. In this short story, Onyx and Tatum prove that even when one plans, it does not always work, especially when love comes knocking.

Read the Room by Mel Dau

81pd7j25AhL. SL1500

Read The Room and Free to Love You made me laugh and question whether I could deal with Mel Dau’s type of men daily. The forced-proximity romance is a classic Mel Dau-written story, featuring a strong-willed man with a humorous side and his leading lady with equal fervor.

Still Cinnamon’s Universe: A Temptation Short Story by Angelia Vernon Menchan

81E7gyr5UKL. SL1500

This story is part of the Temptation series. Cinnamon is the matriarch of the Black/Brown family. She is an author, mentor, and friend. Each story is amazing with a cerebral mindset. Angelia Vernon Menchan brings each story to life with a lively voice.

Reluctant Love: Welcome to Emancipation by elle kayson

81KoIvuklNL. SL1500

Farrah Gray and Mekhi Venzant’s story is mostly an enemies-to-saviors relationship. The pair originally disliked the ground the other walked on until a dangerous situation brought them together, and the story took on a different turn. And I loved every bit of it.

Remedy: Love In Scrubs by Shay Davis

81Rasv1uHdL. SL1500

The Scrubs series was a good look, and each story covered a medical situation and a workplace romance. This story was a super sexy read.

Sugar Baby by B. Love

71VlF418LAL. SL1500

Her real name is Sugar Baby; her mother named her that. Sugar meets Cassius Clay Williams, who was named after the famous boxer. The pair had a unique relationship that would become the real thing in the end. I loved their journey.

JAGUAR (THE NEXT GENERATION Book 2) by Iris Bolling

81IdgMXoneL. SL1500

If you’ve followed Iris Bolling this story is the second act for the Heart Series. Elliott is the son of a powerful White House official. Elliott completed his FBI training and was plunged into a task to keep world-renowned cellist Callie Rippatoe safe after he received intelligence regarding her safety.

Moment of Truth by Juri Hines

81cjgxbQmL. SL1500

New Author Alert! Juri Hines is a new-to-me author, and she is making her path known, one book at a time. The featured story is about a very lovely second-chance romance. That trope is one of my favorites, and Hines delivered a great tale.

Departures and Arrivals (Flights & Feelings Book 2) by Nicole Falls

814BeJPupHL. SL1500

The second book in this series was just as appealing as Excess Baggage. In book two, two lonely people meet at a beach resort and forge a bond they could never imagine when they reconnect five years later.

Summer’s Echo by Robbie Renee

81NaVE YenL. SL1500

One summer camp encounter between teenage counselors serves as the backdrop for this reunion years later. Summer and Echo will get the chance to see if their secret act will define their future. Sistah Girls, I absolutely loved this story.

Plus Size Player (Curve Book 2) by Danielle Allen

71iH44Y4GAL. SL1500

The story is comedic, humorous, well-written, and a great follow-up to Cury Girl Summer. Nina and Russ are the main characters. Nina is a plus-sized woman who has no issues with her size; she knows her worth and adds tax every single time. And neither does her love interest, Russ. These two will definitely keep the pages turning.

Wrapped in Heat: An Evergreen Falls Novella by Té Russ

71gkRK phjL. SL1500

has been too quiet this year. Her pen is still lethal when she drops a gem. In this second-chance love story, two childhood friends are back in their hometown after years apart. Taryn always had a thing for Dorian. The test will be to determine if he feels the same and what to do about those feelings.

Missing Persons: A Young Investigation Novel by DL White

8139Y7qQS9L. SL1500

A mystery is always an enjoyable time for me. And D.L. White delivered a great mystery about a man who goes missing on purpose. His wife’s attorney hired Private Investigator Yvette Young to find him.

Wesley and Yvette’s journey started innocently, and later it took a few sharp turns neither expected. The mystery part kept me guessing and taking notes. White did a wonderful job crafting this storyline with a few unexpected twists.

Perfect Rhythm by A.C. Taylor

817oKIT5TJL. SL1500

A musical story with a side of romance is next to heaven in my book. Nyx was a dancer who commanded any stage. She was highly recruited as a backup dancer for known singing acts.

When she got the job offer to dance with Shade, the lights were bright, and their chemistry was front and center. The musical element is nice, and visualizing the couple’s sensual dance steps was sexy and hot. A.C. Taylor did her thing with this one.

When Forty Bloom by Jacinta Howard

818JnTGakYL. SL1500

A love story featuring grown folks. This story was a palate cleanser for me. Simone Harris decided that for her birthday, she was going to choose herself. Her actual birthday fell on a leap year, which made the occasion even more of a fascination. The friendships aspect in the story will resonate with readers.

The grown folks showing young’uns how to navigate loving relationships was much needed.

It is Love I’m After by Riley Baxter

71O0j4OFL. SL1500

This story is about finding a new path after a failed relationship with a married, delusional ex who won’t take a hint, and another ex who also won’t take the hint. Chaniya and Germayne found themselves in a battle of wills with competing factions. This was a juicy read.

Crossing The Lines For Love (BLP Sports Series Book 8) by Kay Shanee

91dDl6oapCL. SL1500

This story is part of a 10-book series. Crossing the lines for love is about Niko Kemper, a lacrosse player who joined the Navy. When he returned home with his baby boy, he took a job as the lacrosse coach. The other coach is a woman who was also a former lacrosse player.

They don’t make a love connection at first. You will need to wait to see what happens when shared interest is also in their mix of the coaches.

Claimed: Tell Me I’m Nasty by Genesis Woods

71xKyJfpLNL. SL1500

Sistah Girls, you will need to have something to cool your inner freak while reading both Claimed: Tell Me I’m Nasty and Devoured: Tell Me I’m Nasty Book 2. You were warned; read at your own delight.

Inevitably Love. (Complicated Book 2) by Love Belvin

91bT6J iTL. SL1500

This is a follow-up to In The Meantime (Complicated Book 1). You must read Book One first, as the second book picks up where the first one stopped. The much-anticipated ending was worth the short wait. In the conclusion, it was clear that Hayden and Ishaan’s complicated relationship was also about their fear of losing.

Zimyra (A St. Claire Novel Book 10) by Tina Martin

71t7QmfO6sL. SL1500

Zimyra (A St. Claire Novel Book 10) and This Time Next Year were both sweet, lovely, and uncomplicated love stories. Tina Martin tends to deliver slow-burning love stories with limited drama.

Salacious Entrapment by Rosè Dior

71O4ZNg9rWL. SL1500

The title, including salacious, should be a clue about this story. What happened in Vegas in this story did not stay in Vegas.  The story is spicy, it has an amazing storyline, and the character development was good.

10,000 Hours With A Rich Menace (Caselli Family Book 1) by Jahquel J.

71mKq socYL. SL1500

The first book in the Caselli series began with a bang with Menace and Stevie. This story has humor, mayhem, mischief, romance, mental health issues, and other emotional stuff. Jahquel J. is definitely that girl with her pen.

Sistah Girls, if you still need more books, you definitely should try these below too…

And don’t be stingy, share the list with another Sistah Girl.
