A Month Of Sundays by Jade Olivia

The prologue was very much in line with must-read stories. Imagine meeting the guy of your dreams at a wedding.

When Imani Wright met her guy at her boss’s wedding, she never knew the full implications of their first encounter. It would be several years before the two would meet again. That first impression was a lasting one for both Imani and DeAndre.

Let’s delve into the elements that truly set this story apart. Jade Olivia’s meticulous storytelling allows us to connect deeply with Imani, her boss Melody, and the enigmatic DeAndre Harrison. The characters’ backstories are not rushed but allow time to evolve and mature, drawing us further into their world.

We can all relate to the struggles and triumphs of Imani and DeAndre, making their journey all the more engaging and relatable.

Initially, I could not decide whether I liked how DeAndre pranced around, behaving as though his status as a world-famous tennis player made him more attractive than the next man.

Once I looked closer at his story, I saw that his vulnerable and normal guy status painted a different picture. DeAndre was the main character, as the tale leaned more toward his voice and point of view. I would have better understood his plight if a more profound explanation about his family history occurred earlier in the story. The relationship between Imani and DeAndre perpetuated more as his interest and desire for a second chance evolved.

Imani’s second-guessing of her appeal and ability to attract DeAndre was exaggerated. I needed sis to own her greatness rather than downplay her appeal. The emotional depth and vortex of the beautiful side effects of the pair finding their sweet spot were not just relevant to their timeline but were the heart of the story. The pace at which their relationship evolved didn’t work any other way, drawing us in and empathizing with their journey.

The energy in the story was electric; the sexual energy matched the couple’s passions. Olivia did a great job with character development, and the emotional side of the edition pulled readers into the story.

The story is a full-length love story with a bit of spice and believable characters. The light drama was the ticket for my immense enjoyment.

This was my first time reading Jade Olivia and it won’t be my last. I see great potential in her writing and will happily support her future work.
