Sis, I’m not the biggest fan of chain coffee shops, but this story was a sweet and gentle start to my must-read list this season. It’s a short novelette about two HBCU freshmen (Jordan and Kami) who attend orientation. Sparks fly and then… nothing, but another chance encounter during Christmas at a coffee shop changes everything. 

Nuttin’ For Christmas by Ashantay Keys

Sis, the title alone should give you an idea that this story might have you on the edge of your seat with your eyebrows raised. It’s a short tale, but it passes the vibe check and lives up to the title. Aisha Bell is home from college on Christmas break when she notices her best friend’s twin, Cordaé Snoh. This is an erotic tale that will have you hanging on the mistletoe. 

Christmas with My Enemy: An African American Urban Romance by Daja Wiles 

Sis, what’s a Christmas story without a little drama and some guns going off… 😩

This is one story that you will fall in love with, it gives you all the feels and will leave you smiling from ear to ear. 

Six Sensual Wishes: Baes of Christmas by Nicole Falls 

I have enjoyed reading this story every year since it was released back in 2021. Six Sensual Wishes is part of the Baes of Christmas 10-part book series. 

Eva Archer was not a fan of doing nothing, she was a certified busybody. Her world centered around work, more work, and you get the point. And she’s also a certified Scrooge during Christmas. Her friend Sebastian is determined to change her heart when he takes her on a trip where all of Eva’s wishes can come true.

Christina C. Jones recently added to the Heights storyline. I thought it would be fitting to give readers a look at the Heights during the holidays. The original publication date for this book was in 2022, and it covers the couples from the three-book series, Equilibrium. The Christmas release allowed readers to revisit their stories as a bonus. This is an Audible edition.

Sis, everyone knows Cinnamon Black is the one. Any story about this fantastic fictitious character is a blessing. This year, she and her fellow characters spent their time and vast amounts of money to bring joy to those less fortunate than her and her family of philanthropists. For Cinnamon, family does not always mean blood-related. And that’s the beauty demonstrated by this character.

Christmas In Spite Of You by K.C. Mills

If you like a forced proximity love story, this is for you.

Noel Anderson must rent her apartment as an Airbnb to stay afloat. She rents the unit and then realizes she cannot afford to leave. Kanton Joseph and Noel end up in her place together, trying to keep from imploding from their proximity and passions for one another. Good luck with that.
