Cozy Black Romance
Where are all the Cozy books?
I read books in various genres. The cozy theme is by far one of my go-to themes when I need to decompress and clear my reading palate. If you were looking for more romance books with a cozy vibe, you are in luck because I have the list for you.
The stories cover quaint small-town businesses, their owners, families, and love stories about ordinary people.
Always and Forever (Bayou Dreams Book 2) by Farah Rochon
When I consider cozy reads, the first author that comes to mind is Farah Rochon. Her books are easy-going and simply cozy reads. She recently re-released The Bayou Dreams Series, featuring businesses and storylines set in the fictional town of Gauthier.
There are six books in the series. Always and Forever (Bayou Dreams Book 2) features Phylicia Phillips, a well-sought-after designer tasked with renovating the town treasure, Belle Maison, the beloved Bed and Breakfast Inn.
Phylicia begrudgingly collaborated with well-known bachelor Jamal Johnson, an architect who would make it his mission to get under her skin. In Yours Forever (Bayou Dreams Book 3), the theme reminds us that Black women can be both smart and beautiful. Her beauty and brains are what drew Matt, the town’s top lawyer, into Phylicia’s orbit.
Their banter will have you laughing out loud.
Brewing In Love by Riley Baxter
This is a romance about a college student working on her degree. She was having a challenging time as she neared the completion of her degree and matriculation; she met a man who would change her life.
An Unexpected Spark by Delaney Diamond
The story was an unexpected treat. In this story, a couple was tasked with planning their children’s wedding within a brief timeframe. The parents met the same day they learned about their children’s wedding.
The parents were opposite in every way. All the planning activities and head-butting are a part of the story you will thoroughly enjoy. During the wedding planning, the couple had an unexpected spark.
Zimyra (A St. Clair Novel #10) by Tina Martin
We first met the St. Clairs several years ago with the brothers. Zimyra is the only girl in the bunch. In her story, we get to see the feisty young woman who stood by her standards and convictions that showcase themselves boldly. Her story is about love, relationships, finding her path in life, and family.
Behind the Forecast (Broadcast Hearts #1) by Evie Daniels
Mother Nature was a large part of the story, which features a small-town girl and the town’s most eligible bachelor.
Dawson Raine was the Meteorologist (his name is cute), and Eden Cross was newly hired at Vanderbilt News Network. The slow-burning relationship unravels unhurriedly. The story is quirky and cute, with a mildly paced love story. You will definitely enjoy this palate cleanser after reading a tough storyline.
Love Bites and Blooms by Bailey West
In this cute and lovely tale, Kaimani owns Petal and Stem. She provides love vibes for her Sable Falls community. Unfortunately, she is not a fan of all the lovey-dovey holiday events and what they represent.
This year, like in the past, the town continued the business collaborations to promote unity within the community. Kaimani’s collaboration partner was the neighboring business owner, Trip McCall of The Bakehouse.
The town added a new idea to the event, where participants could send gifts to a secret admirer. Kaimani receives gifts and cards from a secret admirer who will eventually deliver her real wishes for love. It is a sweet seasonal story you can read anytime of the year.
Stella & Nine: Recipes for Love by Kennedy B.
Stella and Nine’s story is the third in an eleven-story collaboration (Recipe for Love series) among KMP writers.
Nine is not what one would identify as friendly. It would be better to say he was grumpy. Although when the story began, he was not friendly. When Nine met Stella, her sweet persona changed his way of thinking. The story is fast-paced, and yet, their insta-attraction is so sweet to read, just like the sugar cookies–iykyk.
A few additional books if you need a little more cozy

New Heights Series: Forced Perspective Book 1, Split Decision Book 2, Call and Response Book 3 by Christina C Jones
Sometimes, you just need someone to help you see things in a different light.
A shift in the angle.
Well Sistah Girls, I hope you’ll have some cozy books to add to your TBR (to be read) list. If you try a book from the listicle, please let me know what you think.
Cozy books, whether they are novellas or longer, will give you something to think about. In the times we are living through, we need to have a place to unwind.
Until the next time… Happy reading!
