Black romance stories are alive and we appreciate and respect all the authors who put their time and energy into writing stories that reflect us.
For the past six-plus years, we’ve put together an extensive list of Black Romance stories that we’ve read so that Sistah Girls near and far can tap into these amazing stories. And this year is no different, we’ve got detectives, teachers, techies, gangstas, entrepreneurs, and everything in between being represented.
Housekeeping notes: It’s a twelve-month listicle, our goal is to give readers variety, and a list they can refer to throughout the year. And while these aren’t all the books we’ve read in 2024, it’s enough to get you started.

January
Mercer (Berkeley Bred Book 4) by Grey Huffington. Our girl Huffington came in swinging at the start of 2024. Mercer is likely one of the most calculated characters I’ve read about to have my full attention from the story’s beginning. You will not be disappointed with this storyline.
Take It Off by AshleyNicole. If you want a bit of drama, humor, and romance, this is the book for you. Thyri and Mar used to be bed buddies in a long-distance situationship until they were in the same zip code. What happened when they were finally in the same city was magical.
Love On Appeal: A Second Chance Romance by Riley Baxter. Now, ladies, this one is messy and meaningful. Chosyn discovered her husband was not the man she married. Her get-back was served extremely cold. Her husband F’ed around and found out.
An Undiscovered Plea by L.S. Bergman. Bergman is British Caribbean, and it is fabulous how she infuses her culture into her storytelling. Each journey is always joyful, testy, and elusive. This story is about a couple drawn to one another yet fearful of its outcome on their individual and collective hearts. Their journey was well worth this adventure.
F*ckin Wit Me 2 by Ashantay Keys. The title should explain the story. Part two was about the couple healing and focusing on just the two of them. Tristan loved Anastasia from the minute he met her, and he did not allow anyone to interfere with their happiness.
Something Missing: A Love Story (Is This Love? Book 2) by J, Nichole. This story gave me something to think about and made me thankful that I don’t have to navigate a single life. The couple overcame a few relationship issues to get to where their saga left us. It appears the story will have a part two. I liked that Journey was happy being alone; she was pleased with her stage in life. Then Luke came along and moved heaven and Earth to be her person.
Brushstrokes and Love Notes by Tina Martin. We met Morgan David in the previous book Mr. Tall Dark and Unavailable, so it was a treat to learn more about him and Jamila. Morgan was an artsy guy who had a crush on Jamila. He intended his poetic gestures to woo his woman for more than a date. He wanted a real relationship.
Flaws and All: Elijah & Kehlani by Talena Tillman. Elijah was fresh out of jail and primarily focused on getting in touch with Kehlani. Their business relationship was not a deterrent for him, even though he was her client, and ethically, the two should not be together. But I am sure you know that things end up getting spicy.
When You Fell In Love (Kendrick+Yandi Book 2) by Aubree Pynn. This story starts during Thanksgiving when Yandi has little to no care about the celebration. After her breakup with Kendrick, her life is peaceful and quiet. That was until Kendrick decided he wanted his girl back. You will enjoy this little tryst that Kendrick pulls us into, he is determined to get his girl back or die trying.
The Love That Remains by Tasha L. Harrison. First, let me state that Tasha L. Harrison deserves her flowers today. This story was robust, with so many undertones, and side notes, that it took time to finish.
I wanted to ensure I got everything Harrison mapped out. The New Orleans influences in the story stood tall. Carlotta went to her husband’s favorite places in New Orleans after he passed away. She learned more about the man she married than she ever knew. John Paul was a talented musician who regularly shared his music with his city, unbeknownst to Carlotta. Enoch was one of the musicians John Paul mentored. He will become a vital part of this soul-stirring love story, so just be patient and enjoy the time spent in Crescent City.

Bid on Love (Jenkins & Sons Construction Series Book 5) by Sharon C. Cooper. We all know that the Jenkins Construction family is golden. And it’s truly magical to keep getting new add-ons to the story. In this version, we watch a single mom and Mr. Playa, playa- fall in love. The kid in the mix adds to the story’s appeal.
Never Better…Thanks (Lennox Hills Book 3) by Jahquel J. This story is a stomach-churning story with lots of angst and turmoil. It’s about a wife struggling with conceptions and a less-than-compassionate husband doing the most to bring misery to their situation. When someone asked how she was doing, the wife’s answer was always the same: never better, thanks.
Playing with Soul Ties by A. Blossom is book two in the series. Marli Martin is used to having her way; however, she wants it in the way that best serves her needs. And then things take a turn and Dru comes along and shakes things up.
Stupid Cupid: A Loveland Falls Valentine’s Novella by Genesis Woods. First, let me tell you that this story was sooooo cute. Taylah Evan wrote a column for a local newspaper. After her ex broke up with her, she was not interested in hearing about happy couples, so she changed the column to give readers real advice about relationships. Now that Tyalah is over being a lover girl of course someone unexpected reveals they have feelings for her.
Asylum (The Protectors Book 1) by B. Love. I thought the book’s title had a different premise until I realized its meaning. Asylum Matthews was the leading character in this episode of The Protectors series. After his wife disappears, leaving her child behind, Asylum has to readjust his life to accommodate his stepdaughter’s grief and forge a new path without his wife. Dauterive Jersey is the twist that Asylum didn’t see coming.
Give Love A Try by Monae Nicole. Have you ever wanted to smack a heroine for being so extra? Well, in this story, Danica Thomas is the culprit. That woman was hellbent on doing things her way and not allowing a man to see her vulnerable side. She will learn that her safeguards and convictions will not keep her heart warm or her needs fulfilled.
Trial and Error by Daronica Lowe. This story gave me a good feeling about her future releases. In this story, Karlisle is an entrepreneur focused on her family and baby boy, Kaleb. Talib is an attorney with the most adorable propensity for protecting and guarding the heart of the person he wants in their committed relationship. Karlisle and Talib will go through some things until they can understand their feelings for one another.
Closer To My Dreams (Brook’s Family Values Book 5) by Iris Bolling. As you can see, this book is part of a series. Taylor Brooks is a famous singer and a member of the Brooks family with a White House connection. Jason Whitefield is the famous NBA phenom in love with Taylor. And we finally get to witness their love story.
Pay Me Back In Love by Crystal Collier. Do you all know how much I dislike a hovering mother? Well… the mother of Harlowe McIntire was the president of team too much. She micromanaged her daughter’s life to the point of a bit of craziness. And then comes Kenji Rhodes…
Better Mann by Tracy Gray. I will validate that Omari Mann was indeed the better man for Kitari Miller. His level of patience and compassion for Kitari were admirable in this story. The plot twist at the end of this love story was angsty.

He’s My Next Mistake (Brookwood Book 2) by Jahquel J. is about a friends-to-relationship and a close-proximity romance. Crew Tims and Jru Ambers are casual friends with slight attractions that build when their vacation plans coincide with the others.
Just Lucky ‘N Love: A Brighton Bay Novel by Skye Moon. What will a woman do when she discovers the man she calls her man friend is already married? Nyx was mostly grumpy after the reveal and needed Jamie to bring her out of her relationship woes. The story was a great read with solid character development and a purely organic storyline.
My Heart, His Peace: A Friends to Lovers Romance by Ericka B. The story is another sweet romance with a HEA ending. Sanayah Hopkins was in love with love. After a secret devastates her, her friend and confidant Cole Leake comes to her rescue, and that changes things.
One Eighty by Charity Shane (The Audio Version) If you haven’t read this one or listened to the audio, Sistah Girls, you are in for a treat. Gideon Powers only had one hundred and eighty days to take his reign as the head of his family’s empire. He met Rhian Barnes, who was also on a quest to cross off several items from her bucket list and she also has a time limit. These two collide and that’s where the magic happens.
Spin The Block: A Second Chance-Romance (The Love & Music Suite Book 1) by Reese Ryan. The story is a romance and a musical interlude. Karris was the pop princess until her boy band boyfriend ended their relationship. She needed a new way to stay relevant when she changed the narrative concerning her ex with her new beau. Her fake relationship involved DJ Ward Hughes as her leading man and starting a new chapter in her life.
Royal: At His Command by Natasha Raynor is a story about a socialite and an offer she cannot refuse. You must check this story out; there is much in the backstory to keep you turning pages.
This Time Around by Kay Shanee (audio version). This is a second-chance romance between Dr. Tessa Howard and Dr. Cypress Boone. The pair met at the university where Cypress began his new career as a professor, where Tessa was also a professor. The story had a smooth flow and some unpredictable moments to lead the couple back to one another again.
March Madness by Nicole Falls is a sports story about a former sports star who became the coach for her former school. Aicha Patterson had her hands filled with her new position and the relationship that got away. Chase Carrington retired and reconnected with his long-lost girl once again at the same university.
Running Game by Rene Wolfe. This sports-themed Olympic Games romantic story features two high-profile athletes, a track and field sprinter, and a basketball star. The backstory regarding the familial relationship between Tess and Tamera as sister and coach is detailed (I loved that). Devins’s character had the right amount of swag for Tamera to be attracted to his persona.
Malice Matrimony: An African American Romance by Lakia. This is a forced marriage series starter between a dentist and the plug’s son. It has a good dose of drama with a side of humor, that will keep you turning the pages.
His Dark Magic by Blake Moore. Renada discovers that her finance lives a double life. Once she goes her separate way, Renada meets Dr. Steele. No Spoilers: The story is a fantasy romance about an unbreakable bond of supernatural proportions.
To the Moon (The 8th Wonder Book 1) by Evelyn Latrice. The story is intense, with several sensitive elements and a love story that serves as the primary focal point. I loved it!
Hold Us Together (Masters Family Book 3) by T’Lyn. The story is precise, dramatic, and humorous. Book three (issa series) shows readers the difference between the Masters brothers. KaSyre’s age affects how he reacts to situations, especially those involving the woman with whom he was smitten with her charm. Dior and KaSyre are a couple you are going to fall in love with.

Stealing Home by Riley Baxter. Yes, this is a sports-themed love story, and yes you will like it. Maylon was a flamboyant baseball player with a knack for getting what he wanted. He wants Kierra, a quiet and timid young woman. Their dance around one another is an adventure worth reading.
The Love Contract: I Do by TNesha Sims. The story is about a married couple who are not in love because their arranged marriage is the culprit. Xavier and Jessie will learn the arrangement was not too bad in the end.
The Perfection of a Moment by Kimberly Brown is a powerful love story between Hiram and Ximena–a couple with so much in common and as many differences.
Love’s Covenant: The Cambridge Crew (Graceland Heights) by Connie Easton. This tale is about Tasmond Cambridge and his quest to fulfill his design as leader of the Jungle and recapture the relationship he once had with Yarielle… the one who got away.
Jump Ball: Las Vegas Ramblers by Kasha Thompson. Jump Ball was a smooth layup with a slam-dunk storyline. I could not resist the puns. Sariah Thornton’s father passed away and bequeathed the Las Vegas Ramblers to her, even though she had no idea what to do next. The story focuses on her learning the ins and outs of the team and the romance between Sariah and coach Justus Chappel.
Loyal by Default: Legacy of Cater Rood (Assassin’s Heart Book 2) by K.C. Mills. First, read book one in this series before reading this book. Carter Reed is an assassin. When the woman he loves receives threats due to his lifestyle, the city will not be able to contain his wrath on her behalf.
Smoke N’ Stroke: Four20 Bae by Aja. This story is part of a multi-book collaboration series. This installment is about two therapists treating patients at a counseling center and coming to terms with their relationship. The co-workers struggled with their passions for one another and the impact on their professional lives. The Four20 storyline is an intricate part of the story.
When it Comes to You by Genesis Carter. Josiah MacKenzie swore off love after being betrayed by his girl and his twin brother, he was not ready for what happened when he met Kahlia Mitchell in Mexico. Kahlia was there to honor a promise to her husband after his death. The chemistry and connection between Kahlia and Josiah were steamy hot from the first encounter.
Boss Up: Episode 1: Shooting Shots (WAGS-SZN Book 1) by Aubree Pynn. This tale is about basketball All-Star Weekend and the events in season one between Khamari Coleman and Logan Taylor. This has an erotic storyline that will make your glasses fog.
Mikael’s Choice (Temptation Book 9) by Angelia Vernon Menchan. This is the ninth book in the series and it gave Mikael and Francine answers to the questions left unanswered from the start of their relationship. JII also saw his mother’s progression after leaving him with his father without a glance as she traveled the world to bolster her singing career. The new Francine was a better person and acceptable to those who begrudgingly disliked her. I will admit I was one of those people.
Still, Believe in Love: A Secret Identity Romance by Mycah Edwards is a romance with a slight twist. Xyleek and Yasmere were not on the same accord in their relationships and views about relationships in general. The cat-and-mouse game will eventually entrap the pair.
Delivered with Love by Mel Dau is a second-chance romance between Dallas and Oakleigh after both have overcome trials and tribulations. The good thing is that they endure the journey together. The story has some spiritual elements and discusses the state of women’s health in America today… I appreciate Mel Dau for tackling these subjects.
The Coach’s Challenge: Desperados, Book Six by Dandridge Monroe. I waited for this story for a while after Coach Stew’s first introduction and wow… it was worth the wait. Coach Stewart finally gets his girl after he and Rachelle take the following steps toward a relationship out loud.

My Love is Only For You by Joslyn Marks. There is nothing better than a man who loves you wholeheartedly. This story showcases the premise with the precision with which Marks takes readers in telling this love story.
Starcrossed: An Enemies to Lovers Romance (Jackson Brothers Book 2) by Shae Sanders. The second book in the Jackson Brothers series was good. This story was about two business partners vying for the same account and ending their story in a newfound relationship.
Rapture by King Benjamin. This story is about Apollo Harris and Lyric Adesina and their battle to be the dominant partner in their relationship. Given their backgrounds, the pair are diametric opposites to what one would expect in a romantic coupling.
Intimate Allure (Intimate Series Book 1) by Sean D. Young. Wow! First, the cover is hot, and the story fits the cover’s sex appeal. Simone Reid owns a lingerie boutique where the women in the town can acquire sensual attire. Darius Mitchell’s company planned to obtain her boutique for his family’s portfolio. Their story is one that I enjoyed reading.
Finding My Way To You : A Redemption Love Story (finding my way series) by Briyanna Michelle. This is an action-packed serial killer thriller tale you will enjoy. The page-turner is about an FBI agent with a challenging past who is caught in a dramatic plot to catch a killer. And the romance between Kendrix and Phoenix is top-tier.
Stealing The Sun by Nicole Whitefield. This story features a bride planning her perfect wedding for her and the man who would steal the sun to honor her wishes.
The Problem With Players by Brittany C. Cherry. I know I tell you all this a lot, but a sports-themed love story is one of my favorite types of book. A sassy female coach makes the story a little slice of heaven. Add a second-chance romance plot, and I am happier than a kid in the middle of the candy store.
Passion: The Arranged Hearts Series by Monica Walters. The story is part of a multi-author collaboration series. Passion is a fitting title for this tale. It’s a sexy love story about Giselle King, a determined woman ready to settle down and have a family. The same could be said for Gentry Fleming. The pair applied for a mate at Arranged Hearts, and the rest is history.
Chemistry: The Chemist (The Grey List Book 1) by Grey Huffington. If I ever wanted to meet a character, The Chemist is at the top of my list. He is, in fact, my man of the year book bae. This story kept me turning pages and wondering what made this man tick. He was a mastermind and a great manipulator.
WRATH (The Love is Cure, Vol 1. Vices and Virtues Series Book 6) by Brookelyn Mosley. Lauryn James is a mini tornado and Asher Trusedale, is the calming influence who will tame her wild spirit.
The Stones We Cast (Casting Stones Book 1) by Chelsea Maria. I can always count on this Chelsea Maria to give me something to think about in her storyline. The spiritual elements entrenched in the story add depth to this unconventional love story.
Deep In My Feelings by A.C. Taylor. Kamille just wants to move on from her rumored past, but she ends up involved with the town gossip’s son. This couple had me cheering for her to win his heart, much to his mother’s chagrin.
Ruined (Pressure Book 1) by Rose` Dior. Kera Somers is 21 years old and already lived a tough life trying to care for her siblings. When she runs into her ex and another suitor, the story takes an emotional turn before the cliffhanger at the end of their saga. I will be back to see how this one concludes.
Transformation: The Metamorphosis Series Book Three by Bailey West. My girl Bailey West writes with a passion that is difficult to ignore. The topper is also a sports-themed edition. NBA star Zechariah Aldaine’s career was in the balance after a severe injury threatened his chances of playing in the league. He met Billye Couture, a business owner who thrived outside the limelight. Their plight will not be an easy-to-see ending, but rest assured, it will be a beautiful endeavor.
Wanderlust: An Umber Bluffs Story by Te` Russ. When author Peyton was experiencing writer’s block, she visited Umber Bluffs for inspiration. Her inspiration came in the form of a hottie named Maverick Porter. This story had all the factions I needed for a quick tale with chemistry and a relatable relationship between the couple.
Come Ride With Me: Platinum Ryder by A.C. Arthur. Mica Monroe received her father’s motorcycle shop. Although Mica did not know her father very well, she took on the task that would change her life. I don’t know much about motorcycles, but this story gave me a good feeling… and that good feeling is Nash Waters.
Shades of Love: From Blue to Forever by Bree Wright. Initially, the cover drew me in, but the story was a power move, and Wright delivered a magnificent storyline. Zina was a beauty who chose blue as her signature look. Terrance was a tech empire magnet. He and Zina would forge a bond, unlike any other relationship.

Carried Away (Treacherous Twins Book 1) by Natasha Raynor is the prequel to the Treacherous Twins series. Shalaine Brunson is abandoned by her husband and left to fend for herself. The novelette is short and is a fantastic start to an epic series.
A Month of Sundays by Jade Olivia. *New Author Alert* This is a slow burn with a complicated storyline. The character development is good and the spice plus romance was the perfect cherry on top.
Frenemies to Lovers (Peachtree Cove) by Synithia Williams. Friends who turn into enemies and later to lovers is so much fun to read. In the past, Tamara and Andre had different opinions about friendship. Years later, when the pair were back in Peachtree Cove and not so happy to be in one another’s orbit, life changed for them once again.
Coming Home by Monica Cox This story is about an unexpected pregnancy and a doctor who saves the damsel in distress in this dramatic marriage-of-convenience love story.
Love, Undercover: A Secret Enemies with Benefits Novel (Martin Brothers Book 3) by Nina High. In book three we get family playboy- Drummond Martin, who is part of the local NBA team. We get floor seats to see how his relationship with his nemesis, Porsche Brown goes from cold to hot.
A Love So Secure by C. Monet is a sweet romance with limited drama. Komante is the family bodyguard, and Salt is his primary protection detail. Over time, their relationship became more. It’s a slow but good burn romance.
Curvy Girl Summer (Curve Book 1) by Danielle Allen. Curvy Girl was terrific. The cover was the catalyst for the storyline. Aaliyah James was on a quest to find her happily ever after while she committed to multiple dates. The dates were all taken at Ahmad Williamson’s place of business. Their interactions were the funniest and most straightforward; their relationship would change before the story ended.
Fair Trade: The Atlanta Demon Series by Unique. Jrue was a football player trying to care for his (greedy) family members. His family situation mostly drained me. His life improves when his team traded him to his hometown, and Jream enters the chat, and that’s when things get good.
Heat of the Moment (Evermore Series Book 1) by BriAnn Danae is an erotic romance with a beautiful storyline. The characters fall in love in believable and spicy ways. Zahair is a manly man who is also gentle in his interactions with Sovanna. Their story is top-tier.
Bruno (Family Ties) by Delaney Diamond. Bruno Santana is a billionaire client of matchmaker Marissa Liburd. Marissa is a single mom with a demanding career, so when she met Bruno as a client, all bets were off because their attraction was instantaneous.
Free Agent: Connecticut Kings 10 by Christina C Jones. This is the tenth book in the magnificent Connecticut Kings series. Rori Mitchell discovered her All-Star man was a cheater. That same day, she met Tatum Wilder, a star with the Kings, and their connection was off-the-charts goodness. Their story was fun, sexy, and relatable.

The Pearl at Black Diamond Bay: Black Diamond Bay, Book 3 by DL White. Kari Savoy had her hands full raising her siblings, so when her job at a resort included a sexy boss named Davis Scott, her life included a chance for male entertainment. And entertainment was sensually appealing for both of them.
Lilith (Three Kings Book 1) by Alexandria House. The cover is ultra-sexy, and Ms. House delivers an adventurous tale. The story is suspenseful and has many dramatic familial issues. There is a good degree of humor that balances it also being a dark thriller with crazy family dynamics and a super sexy relationship between Lilith and the leading man.
Allison (LMAO) Book 3) by Sabrina B. Scales. This book is part of a series (as you can tell) in this installment, we get Allison’s story. The book rates 10 out of 10 for comedic flare and there were many therapeutic experiences for each woman in the friend group. The jokes and the storyline were fabulous. Allison’s story had more secrets for readers to delve deeper into the storyline.
Nathaniel Leon: A Black Cowboy Story by Angelia Vernon Menchan. This is not your typical cowboy story, and that’s a good thing. Nathaniel left his family business to be a cowboy. In his new position, he prospered on the Blackmon ranch. And he found a love interest there.
Mega Man by Mel Dau. Megatron Loric Manfield was an extra-confident man with a highly comedic side. He spoke his mind openly, and I laughed myself into a stupor while reading this story. Ruth Gordon was a preacher’s daughter who was ill-prepared for the man named Mega.
Nashville Unforgettable by Joy Avery. Can you imagine being dumped just before a planned trip? Well, that’s what happened to Journi Moore. The initial trip quickly transformed into a thankful adventure that included meeting Von Thornton. The Music City would hold a note of happiness as the pair became intimately acquainted during their visit.
Ghàidheal: The Consortium Book Five by Dandridge Monroe. If the gorgeous Scotsman is not enough motivation to read this book, I don’t know what to tell you. This is a dark mafia romance with a few racist pricks prancing around. It’s also a love story and a second-chance romance for Liam and Frankie. The Scottish dialect adds to the mystic in the story.
Love in Reverse by Chassilyn Hamilton. After Oaklynn loses her job, she gets a great offer, only to discover that the person hiring is her ex. Jabari uses his newfound clout to coax Oaklynn into a fake relationship so that he has a plus-one for his mother’s wedding. This was a good read.
Rather: The Therapist (The Grey List Book 2) by Grey Huffington. This story is a love triangle between Rather, Priest, and his lady. When Rather met Priest, he thought she was a lady of the night. After an involved weekend, their connection was solidified. He would eventually learn her true identity. Meanwhile, their relationship quickly upset the dynamics of Priest’s familial obligations.
The Cost Of Love (Jenkins & Son Construction Book 6) by Sharon C. Cooper. Antonio Jenkins is supposed to be a bachelor for the rest of his life… until he meets Scarlett Rowsey, a single mom focused on keeping her daughter Bella safe. Anthony was always the family’s ladies’ man but meeting Scarlett and her daughter changed his outlook on relationships.
Excess Baggage (Flights & Feelings Book 1) by Nicole Falls. If you like your romance with an age gap, this is the story for you. Our girl Winifred Brown fell for a man eleven years younger than her. As much as she tried to dismiss their attraction, eventually, Elijah wore down her defenses, and let’s just say things got spicy.

Reclaim Me: The New Haven Series (Book 4) by J.L. Seegars. J.L. Seegars has a knack for finding a cover to epitomize the crux of a story with fantastic dialog and content. This story is about a man getting a second chance to be a better version of himself for his ex and their baby girl. The road wasn’t easy for him, but in the end, it was worth the struggle and sacrifice.
Studio Love by Parker Jones. Brielle is the daughter of a music mogul who always discouraged her from pursuing a career in the industry. Until her father needed her to help one of his top talents to get back to the top of the charts with a hit record. Her father did not expect Brielle to fall for Bryce, a Grammy-winning rapper.
Journey’s Love (Bisset Sisters Book 2) by K.C. Mills is a story about learning to be patient and waiting for the right time to be together. Journey and Steel made it easy to cheer for their relationship, even though Steel was a staunch playa until the bitter end. Thankfully, Journey was in the right mindset to receive his redemptive side.
The High Price of Love by Pamela Campbell. The title of this story was perfect for the storyline and plot. Jalessa and Justen were instantly attracted to one another when they met on a work project. Later, family drama between family members nearly derailed their relationship. Can these two last or will outside influences destroy them?
Grow and Tell: A Mason Family (The Mason Family Saga Book 9) by AshleyNicole. Anytime the Masons make a call, readers answer enthusiastically. This installment was about Sherrod, his enormous family, and the woman he set his sights on. Although both claimed they were not interested in a relationship, you cannot validate their claims with the excessive amount of time Sherrod spends with Kahlea. In her usual AshleyNicole form, this story was quite humorous.
A Place In The Sun by Tiye is a highly emotional story about a cardiovascular surgeon with a broken heart. Sistah Girls, this is a splendid story filled with emotional and sweetly chaotic moments.
In The Meantime (Complicated Book 1) by Love Belvin. The title of this story was spot on. It is a complicated story about a mistaken identity relationship during a BSU Panthers event. The cat-and-mouse game at the story’s beginning will set the tone for Hayden and Ishaan as their sultry chemistry scorches the pages with each encounter.
Batch of Love by Natasha D. Frazier. This story is a Christian romance that takes us to a baking competition where exes clash over a business venture that ends with a sweet treat.
Krash & Bern by Mya is about a boxer who falls for someone who is the complete opposite of him. Bernice “Bernie” James is an IT guru who has introduced a new security innovation. The only things in her life consisted of work and more work until she met Keyshawn “Krash” Williams. He was like a tornado and a rainstorm when it concerned his attraction to Bernie.

Freak Nick: A Fake Dating Romance by Denise Essex. Catchy titles are the best way to catch my attention. Yes, Nick’s nickname was after the Atlanta festival from the 80s and 90s. And readers, Nick lived up to his name in this story. This story has the right amount of comedy, romance, and great character development making this romantic interlude worth reading.
Chasing Summer (Season of Love Book 1) by D. Rose is a second-chance romance and a business venture that turns into a sweet love story about a couple dealing with past relationship woes and overcoming their resistance to the inevitable.
Gianna (The St. Clair Women Book 2) by Tina Martin. This is the second book in The St. Clair Wives series and it was good, but I did not expect anything different for Ramsey and his wife. Their relationship is almost unreal. Gianna owns the Boardwalk bakery, and her husband does what he always does best when he caters to his wife, even when she thinks it’s too much.
Love Like That (Love Secrets Book Two) by T.S. Martin *New Author Alert* This is the second book in T.S. Martin’s three-book series. Dorien’s story was about his diligence in keeping his family’s secrets. Let us see how well that works for him when he starts a relationship with Shavonne.
In the Midst of Pain by Dandridge Monroe. In 2024, Dandridge Monroe could do no wrong with her characters and their stories. Black love is present, okay! The Diallos love with conviction. Messiah understood the assignment when it involved Dr. McQueen.You will scream, cry, laugh, and enjoy this amazing edition.
Blurred Lines: Cop Killer by Keith Thomas Walker. One of my favorite male writers never fails to give readers a story with suspense, a love story, and a who-done-it storyline. The story is about a cop killer and a serial killer. This version is a follow-up to Blurred Lines: The Monster.
Recipe For Love: Loveland Falls Book 2 by Genesis Woods. This story is about a small-town romance between a baker who was able to mend the broken heart of a man who promised never to love again after losing his wife. Skailar was a sweetheart, but she was always unlucky in love. It was unfathomable to think these opposites would attract.
Smoke: The Breadcrumbs Series Book Five by Ashantay Keys. The Breadcrumbs series is so good. Smoke Coalman was a man after any woman’s heart. He would do anything for Embry to ensure her life extended beyond her need for another kidney transplant. Failure was not an option because of his deep and abiding love for his girl.
And Then There Was Passion (Hanson Family Book 2) by Asia Monique. I love engaging stories, especially when the couple’s connection is sultry. June and Calix were passion-driven people who satisfied each other’s desires. Asia Monique gives readers different epilogues, which I thought was a cool way to end the story.
Zyan: Protector of Her Heart by A.C. Taylor. The cover alone was enough for me to try this story. Zyan was an accomplice to Yara’s desire to get back at her forever-cheating ex. That one and only encounter will reignite later in life, as they will never forget that night of passion.

Tainted by Kaylyn. Zara and Kenyon’s love story unfolded in measured stages, and this makes it such a fulfilling romance to read. Without giving the story away, Zara and Kenyon’s commitment becomes solidified over the regrets of other friends and family. This was such a good read.
Out of Bounds: A Lakeview Basketball Original (Gators Basketball Book 1) by Jatia Eley. Now, y’all know I love a good sports romance story and this one did not disappoint. Honey G. is a coach whose team is on a losing streak and then they inherit a rookie who loves partying more than playing ball. Their dynamics will develop into a winning season for the team and more.
Anuri (Whip-N-Fade Series Book 1) by Bailey West. After a relationship breakup, Anuri finds her purpose as a talented hairstylist with a significant following. Her friend Kalmin, a coffee shop owner and her long-term friend, shows Anuri that love is possible. The story was sweet.
Make It Real (Taylor Family Saga Book 2) by Kami Holt. Each new installment in the Taylor Family Saga series gives readers a chance to experience romance with a little kick. In this edition, Puma Wade was hell-bent on not getting hurt again. Mano Harris took a vacation with his friends and got the most fantastic trip of his life with Puma.
Forever Bound (The Forever Bound Series Book 3) by Te`Russ. This is the third book in the Forever Bound Series and it’s highly erotic. If you are looking for a brow-sizzling love story, this is your story. Harper and Trent are back again, and their relationship over the years was finally to the point of happily ever after. Readers might recall meeting Trent and Harper in Birthday Sex in July 2020.
Joy and Pain by Chicki Brown is a great place to start if you have never read her books. The story is a unique interracial/multi-racial romance with likable characters. Even the ancillary characters were interesting.
Big Nick Energy (Tales from Hamilton University by Danielle Allen. The title of this book is another accurate assessment of the male character’s energy. Wink. Wink. The Hamilton University Homecoming weekend took a back seat to Asha getting the chance to have a weekend fling with her old crush, Nick Williams. And things get hot quickly.
The Wedding Season (A Love for All Seasons Book 7) by Tiye. The Locke sisters are some of my favorite characters. Hopefully, the girls are going to the altar with their men. As each sister gets a recap, you will see what I mean, although this is the finale for this group, I hope to have a few character cameos in the future.
Macy (Whip N`Fade Book 1) by Marlee Rae. Sistah Girls, at this point, you know how I feel about covers… this one is top-tier. Macy Lovett had a thing for blue hair. After divorcing her boring husband, she found her niche as a colorist with a new job and lifestyle in a new town. Gavin was a world-famous artist who was eccentric and open-minded enough for Macy to blossom in her newfound independence.
Friends & Lovers by Parker Jones. This story is about friends and neighbors who eventually become lovers later in life. The pair initially fights their prior attraction until they come to a forgone conclusion: they are ready to be together.

Rugger, The Huntress (The Greylist Book 3) by Grey Huffington. Rugger is an unexpected love story with spice and suspense. It features women and men with badass as part of their family name. Rugger is eccentric and deadly and meets her match with Psalms. You must pay close attention to this mystery and suspenseful story; Sistah Girls, you’ve been warned.
Never Too Late (The Corporation Book 2) by A.C. Arthur. The cover, yes, it is the cover. The Corporation was a private club for high-powered executives to have consenting fun. His attraction immediately sparked when Niko spots his mentor’s sister in the club. And Niko knew he was in trouble.
The Pattels 4: Heir Apparent (Book 1) by S.K. Hardy. I’ll Take Lucas Pattel to go, please, and a side order of Angel. Sistah Girls who know those names know what I am talking about here. This is book one in the Pattel series. Lucas gets to match wits with his enemy’s span named Reeva. They are like oil and water and a dosage of dynamite.
Second-Chance Bodyguard (The Touré Security Group Book 3) by Patricia Sargent. The Toure group has some of the sexiest brothers in the security business. In book three, we follow Hezekiah Toure and fellow security agent Celeste Jarrett. Readers will enjoy Celeste’s quick wit and smarts as she helps Hezekiah solve a crime targeting businesses they both have an association with and relationship with in some form or fashion.
Christmas With Cinnamon Black by Angelia Vernon Menchan. Cinnamon Black is a force of nature with a beautiful spirit with friends around the globe. Her, Malcolm Black, and the people of Center City make readers want to be better. In every story, her nuggets of wisdom are real. The Christmas story just amplified how this character is a true blessing to those who love strong women, sassy characters, and the men who support them one hundred percent.
Private Agenda: Heights Chronicles by Christina C. Jones is a visit to The Heights and the inner workings of the town’s government. It is also a story about the chemistry between Camille Monroe and Duke. Now Camille is somewhat of an outsider who wants to help save Duke’s neighborhood from greedy developers trying to destroy the coziness of the Heights community with their private and devious agendas. There is a romance that blossoms, and it’s so good.
Just For One Night (From Vegas to Atlanta With Love Book 1) by Egypt Cynaé. The story is about a weekend in Vegas that did not stay in Vegas. There was a bit of drama and then a crescendo in the middle that will keep you waiting for more after the one-night stand that kept giving.
Gavyn’s Pursuit (The Bellamy Brothers Book 3) by Riley Baxter. I was overly ready to read Detective Gavyn Garrett’s story. His partner in this story is a Ribax Police sergeant named Sharae Chapman. The pair embarked on an undercover relationship that could damage both their careers. The chemistry was too strong for them to worry about the consequences.
Insomnia by Brielle Hall. First, let me say the characters in this story were well-developed and had a realistic undertone. The plot and spice levels were top-of-the-line. Brielle Hall showed mental health issues in a gentle and caring manner. Hall is an author to watch for in 2025.
Beautiful Harmonies by Monica Walters. Y’all, Monica Walters knows how to deliver a fabulous tale. This story is about love, music, relationships, and a wholly amazing love story.

Psalm by Tatum James. Pslam is an IT specialist in charge of his family’s brokerage business. His family is a crime family. After Psalm hires a nurse to care for his brother, he meets Anya and is annoyed that her healing hands might be the medicine to cure his aching heart.
Protected (Atlanta’s Finest Book 8) by Sharon C Cooper. You should know by now that Atlanta’s Finest Men is yummy, and their storyline is always riveting. We’ve waited for Parker’s story, and it was worth the wait to see if his ruthless father would finally get his karma for being a general nemesis to Parker and society. The story was also about Parker and Chelsey finding their footing as a couple. The mystery and suspense parts were magical.
Single Jingle (SHE iS Series) by Marlee Rae. This story is part of the She iS series. I suggest reading the previous books to follow this story better. Holly and Nick (I know that was cute) were tasked with handling a singles event, which, coincidentally, involved different aspects for them. The close encounters between the pair reacted to a situation where they caught the festive spirit as part of the event.
Deuce (The Dillinger Chronicles Book 1) by Kimberly Brown. Deuce and Salima’s story is pure fire. The dynamics and chemistry between this pair were gritty, sexy, and breathtaking. This is a love story with an edge.
Let It Happen by Jaimsss P. This story was pressure and peace. Both Jessica and Julian will work your nerves that will have you yelling at the book. The sway of angst between them was always palpable. Jaimsss P. told this story with a precise pen about how couples need to learn to communicate inside and outside the bedroom.
Mr. President (The Mister Series Book 13) by B. Love. The Mister Series took over my reading this past year. Mr. President is a co-parenting and relationship story. Elias and Amanda had a child together but they could never see themselves as a couple. Now the truth will always set you free, but they weren’t telling themselves the truth about their love for each other.
The Night That Changed Everything (Belle & Andre Age of Love, Book 5) by Kayla Perrin. It’s been several years since the original story began with this couple who fell in love on bi-coastal business trips across the globe. And we are back with the final installment, it was everything I could have hoped for and more.
Sonshyne and Raine: An Onyx City Love Story by Kay Shanee. You all know how I feel about synergy and relationships. Shyne and Raine have one of the dopest centric-connections I have read in a while. Their predominant chemistry manifested for them from the first day. The back story with his grandfather’s name and so many connecting issues with Raine was sweet.
Double The Love by M. Monique. This is not your typical holiday romance. This story is about an overbearing grandfather hellbent on controlling the lives of his adult grandchildren. After the dust settles on the initial gruffness, the grands get to their happiness, despite their grandfather’s objections. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
