Novels + Vacation
Sistah Girls, I’m back with the perfect novels to bring along on vacation! Personally, when I’m on vacation, I enjoy reading quick and easy novels that can keep my attention during that long plane ride, road trip, or on those lazy days by the pool.
I chose some of my favorite novels from different genres that you can devour on your next trip!
Act Your Age Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert
On paper Jacob and Eve don’t work, they are complete opposites. Jacob leads an organized and some might even say rigid life while Eve is an unorganized woman with purple braids and a spunky attitude. But there is something very cute and lovable about her, and she literally comes in and shakes things up in Jacob’s life.
This is a cute, and fun read that will keep you smiling from ear to ear.
The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest
Lily Greene spends her days dreaming about becoming a children’s book editor, she’s also a shy bookwork who is admittedly a little awkward.
Lily finds escapism corresponding with her favorite fantasy author, and what begins as friendly communication turns into something more but she won’t allow herself to entertain those thoughts. And then he goes ghost.
After months of being in her feelings, she enlists her new neighbor (who is charming and attractive) to help her find a date for her sister’s wedding. But little does she know, Nick is an author—her favorite fantasy author.
Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson
A compelling tale of two siblings learning the death of their mother comes with an inheritance–a black cake, made from a family recipe with a long history, and a voice recording.
The recording leaves a message that creates a journey for siblings Byron and Benny that will change the course of their relationships and lives forever.
This is the perfect vacation read that will have you turning the pages while on any long flight.
The Melancholy of Summer by Louisa Onome
The Melancholy of Summer is a beautiful YA novel that follows seventeen-year-old Summer Uzoma, who is navigating the pains of abandonment and growing up, during her last summer before College.
They All Fall Down by Rachel Howzell Hall
This riveting thriller follows seven strangers lured to a remote island under mysterious circumstances and the terror that ensues.
It’s the perfect vacation read for those looking for a good murder mystery with plenty of twists and turns, be sure to add this one to your list!
