Black Romance Novels to Read this Summer
Sistah Girls, summer is here, and it’s time to enjoy some sizzling summer reads. I have the perfect list to quell your Black romance needs. Go ahead and grab your favorite beverage and settle in for a thrilling ride.
Sweet Summer Days (The Grays Family & Friends Book 1) by Sheryl Lister
Is there a better way to start this list without a Summer title? The answer is no.
The Grays books were great, and reading more about some of the friends mentioned in previous books was exciting. Thad and Celeste’s story, initially released in 2018, was extra nice, but Sistah Girls trust me when I say it is relevant today.
This version was a second-chance romance and an opportunity for Thad to get his happy ending.
Audra (Family Ties Book 3) by Delaney Diamond
Audra’s story is the third book in the Family Ties series. Her story was a nice conclusion to the saga. If you are looking for a real-life example of second-chance married couple love or rekindled love, this is your story.
While reading, you should also read Ethan (book one), and Monica (book two); you will thank me later.
Lunch Break Series Collection (Books 1-6) by Stephanie Nicole Norris
I do not routinely read long series, so these six short novellas were enough to whet my appetite for some sexy stories. If I Could Stay, Escort, Cabin Fever, A Moment of Forever, Forever My Lady, and After the Kiss.
Stephanie Nicole Norris filled the collection with relatable characters within a great storyline, and the message in the final installment was- profound.
Her Little Secret (Young In Love) by Elle Wright
Sex Therapist Paityn Young was not getting any sex in her city, so she developed her naughty toys to get the job done. When she met Bishop Lang, it was time to retire her new friend for a newer one.
The story is all kinds of sexy.
Love Wasn’t The Goal: A Surprise Pregnancy Romance by J Nichole
Surprise pregnancy stories always give me two feelings, upset or nonchalant. It matters how the guy reacts to the news. Break-up and makeup, with a splash of, “By the way, this is your baby.” 😵💫 This was a different secret baby version–and it was good.
Brown Sugar (SHE iS Series Book 1) by Marlee Rae
In this summer story, you meet Tonya James, the middle James sister. Tonya has a sweet business and a wondrous life but misses true love. When an old flame resurfaces, she gets the chance to have her happy ending.
Somebody’s Forever by Robbie Renee
Jules and Zeke needed a therapist, a minister, and Jesus to help them through all the obstacles thrown at them to keep their footing. I wanted Jules to stop. I assure you, there is enough drama, but more loving and caring outshines the negativity.
Sistah Girls, I hope my summer list gives you all the vibes and feels. Let me know in the comments if you have read any of these novels or plan on reading them…
