Counting His heartbeats (Baxter County Blues Book 3) by Riley Baxter

Book Three in this series brings an extra dose of drama to Baxter County. While at its core it’s a story about a man discovering his true love, it also explores deeper themes of second chances and emotional healing.

Jawaan, with his humorous and easygoing nature, masks a deeper pain—his fear of rejection and unrequited love.

Zumari shares similar struggles, grappling with doubts about relationships and commitment. Together, their journey is one of finding balance, embracing vulnerability, and learning to take chances on love.

The Rhythm to her Heart by Rosè Dior

This story is a beautifully told continuation of a couple we first met in an earlier series. Fans of the Rosè will recognize Knowledge and Rema from the Pressure Series, and many of us were eager to revisit their journey.

As young adults, Kema and Knowledge faced more challenges than most could imagine. What began as a friendship gradually deepened into something more profound, tested by relentless trials that threatened to pull them apart.

Their love story is anything but typical—it’s raw, realistic, and deeply moving. It stands as a testament to Rosè Dior’s ability to craft narratives that not only resonate but also reflect her unwavering belief that love, in all its complexity, has its own unique rhythm.

Truce of the Matter by Charity Shane

Truce of the Matter is a heartfelt story about missed chances, rekindled love, and the enduring pull of fate. The truth was simple: Boxer Rex Goode let love slip away to chase his career, while Truce Redmond prioritized her family over their relationship.

Years later, fate brings them back together—and the spark that never truly faded is reignited. When they first parted, the weight of their responsibilities made surviving life’s storms together seem impossible.

Now, Rex runs a furniture store, and Truce owns a soul food restaurant—neither expecting to need each other again, yet drawn back together by circumstance and emotion.

What stood out was Shane’s inclusion of supporting characters, who added depth without overshadowing Truce and Rex’s journey. Also, the blended family storyline added a feather to the author’s cap in the way she seamlessly integrated that facet into the love story.

Fumble Into Forever (Fumble Series Book 1) by Elle Madearis

As much as I love a good love story, I am ecstatic about a sports-themed romance. If you did not read this story when it was released in December, you now have the chance to catch it before the second story is published on May 23rd.

Here is the scoop. Byrce Prescott had his girl stolen by a fellow teammate. So he decides that he would get the last laugh, and everyone would be a target.

Then Bryce meets Kindness Jordan. Kindness would not allow Bryce to stand ten toes down on petty against his ex, and former teammate.

Moreover, his relationship with Kindness and the bond she had with him and her family was the best place to cast his desires. Y’all, Mama Jordan was not a joke. You will adore her. I cannot wait for book two.

Stealing The Plug’s Love: An Urban Standalone by Aleisha Dawn

Stealing the Plug’s Love: An Urban Standalone by Aleisha Dawn is my first book by this author, and it definitely won’t be my last.

The fact that it’s an urban standalone immediately piqued my interest, as that’s not something you see often. The story itself is a quick read, with a slow-burn romance that adds depth to the plot. The dramatic moments, particularly the mother’s abandonment of her children, had me on an emotional rollercoaster, but I appreciated how the hardships didn’t linger so that it overshadowed the overall storyline.

This story was a solid introduction to Aleisha Dawn’s writing, and I’m excited to explore more of her work in the future.

Choose Me (Irresistible Husband) by Sheryl Lister

This book is part of a collaborative series, and it delivers a heartfelt, swoon-worthy romance.

After Xavier showed Zena that she was the one for him, it was only natural that he would go the extra mile to win her as his wife. Xavier truly embodied the role of a Knight in Shining Armor, on a mission to rescue Zena’s heart and prove himself as the irresistible man she couldn’t live without.

And let me tell you—he earned that title with ease, facing no real challenge in his quest. One particular line from the story had my heart racing, and I couldn’t help but yell, “Girl! You’d better choose that man!”

Xavier said, “If you choose me, you can trust that I will never hurt you, I will never give you a reason to cry, or play games with your heart, because your heart is mine.” Whew! That right there says everything about this man and this beautiful love story.

PANTHER (THE NEXT GENERATION Book 1) by Iris Bolling

81mPcUCfZUL. SL1500

The story is much as the title insinuates; this is a story about the next generation of characters for the original Hearts series. The main characters are Thompson, Johnson, and Harrison.

The first book in the new arc focuses on James Brooks Jr., who adopts the undercover alias “Panther” as he embarks on intense spy training. The romance in this book is a slow, slow burn, set against a backdrop of psychological manipulation.

But here’s the twist: these guys are fresh college graduates, having just completed a world tour to assess global security issues.

Without giving too much away, it’s ultimately a story about a man meeting a woman and claiming her for a future that will unfold as the story progresses. Trust me, it all makes sense once you dive into their journey. To fully appreciate this storyline, I’d recommend reading The Heart Series first.

Sistah Girls, my romance coffers are brimming with delight. I hope you will try a few of the books, if not all of them, and find a few good books to share with a friend. Enjoy!
