Sistah Girls, from the costumes, scary movies, decorations, and now spooky reads… October is the second-best month of the year.

Let’s dive into some reads that will have you on the edge of your seat, looking over your shoulder, and possibly ready to fall in love with the most unhinged stories!

Chosen by a Vampire by Wynta Tyme

SGBC WT

In this dark romance, blood will be shed, magic will be thrown, and bondage sex is showcased like a jewelry display.

I am familiar with Ms. Tyme’s pen game, so I was all in for this dark paranormal romance, and she did not disappoint. I enjoyed the heart-pumping suspense the most.

We’ll Never Tell by Kayla Perrin

SGBC KP

Shandra James is a man stealer. It’s a sport to her, a game that she always wins. As a pledge of the exclusive Alpha Sigma Pi sorority, she should know her place and know not to throw herself at a sister’s boyfriend. But she’s marked a new target: Henry Reid.

Henry’s fiancée, Phoebe, and her sorority sisters, Miranda and Camille, decide to teach Shandra a lesson one night. A lesson that involves humiliation but nothing more. But unexpectedly the lesson turns deadly and the three women find themselves facing three new rules: Never mention what happened that night, protect each other, and tell no one. Yet when a murderer comes calling, they each discover that rules are meant to be broken.

This was a fun and juicy story to read. It was a true ‘who did it’ story. I appreciate it when authors provide clues that will lead readers to believe one thing but as you keep reading it turns out to be something completely different. If you love the game of Clue, this is the story for you.

Don’t Call Me Crazy by Octavia Grant

SGBC OG

When Television Execs offers top dollar for Ivory to host her own True Crime Show, is it to advance her career or help uncover secrets?

As Ivory interviews, Amalia Havoc, she can’t help but wonder if she bit off more than she could chew by accepting this new opportunity.

Octavia Grant’s pen is one for the books. Grant’s imagination is out of this world and each book she writes gets better and better. But Don’t Call Me Crazy takes the cake! If you love crime stories mixed with plot twists, this is the story for you.

Everybody Ain’t Your Friend by Tanisha Stewart

SGBC TS

Mia thinks her life is completely normal. She has a loving boyfriend, great and supportive friends, and a close relationship with her mother. Things take an interesting turn, however, when she is almost run down by a car one day.

Then come the messages from an untraceable number. Not to mention the heartbreaking secret that is revealed shortly thereafter.
Suddenly, everything that Mia thought was right in her life goes wrong. She has no idea why, but she needs to find out before her secret stalker decides her time is up.

This story is filled with plot twists, drama, and jaw-dropping moments. As you read, what you think you know will be further from the truth! Be prepared to have to flip back through pages to make sure

The Forgotten Wife by Lakisha Johnson

SGBC LJ

Rylee used to be the apple of Todd’s eye, but lately, he’s been too busy to notice her, and she couldn’t help but wonder why.

They say first comes love then comes a kidnapping, attacks, lies, and affairs. Someone is out for blood but who, what, when, and why? Secrets are revealed and Rylee fears for her life. When all she ever wanted was not to be The Forgotten Wife.

This is a suspenseful and action-filled page-turner. Once you pick up The Forgotten Wife, you won’t be able to put it down.

No Kissing by Toni Larue

SGBC TL

What started out as a come-up plan quickly turned into a passionate romance. Ready to put her original plan to the side, Leila confronts Langston about the obvious obstacle in their relationship— his wife.

A book filled with twists, and turns will always have a place in my heart. This novel was one of those stories that will leave you side-eyeing each character in several ways.

Hardened Hearts by Samyra Alexander

SGBC SA

Parrish is moving up in the world: she received the Employee of the Year award at the domestic violence shelter where she works as a manager, and her handsome boyfriend proposed. Her life is drastically different from the lives of the abused families she serves, or so it seems. Parrish can relate to her clients more than she’ll let on.

Dillon is a popular art teacher at the shelter where she works with Parrish. Although Dillon is open about losing a parent to domestic abuse, there’s a secret she’s hiding. One so big that, if discovered, could ruin her friendship with Parrish and destroy Dillon’s work reputation.

Tired of standing by helplessly while domestic violence shatters the lives of those they care about, Parrish and Dillon risk it all when they devise a risky plan to avenge their clients.

DV trigger warning: The main characters work at a domestic violence shelter. Once you get started, there will be nothing you can do but reach the end. A great read is waiting for you!

“They couldn’t stand each other. Probably because they were so attracted to each other.”
Alesha

Alesha prided herself on being everything that her husband Malcolm wanted or needed. Juggling busy careers and raising two young children, they still shared a wildly passionate sex life. So when Malcolm challenged her to make one of his fantasies come true, she turned to her best friend Traci for help.

Traci was sexy and uninhibited, and it didn’t take much coaxing to get her to agree to help Alesha with her dilemma. What started out as an innocent adventure quickly turned into a suffocating web of secrets and betrayals that threaten to destroy not only their marriage, but Alesha’s life.

This series was good and erotic. I devoured this series like I would never read again!

Happy reading, and don’t forget to leave a review!
