Urban Novels and Sisterhood
Sisterhood in novels is always great to read about. You’re going to witness the main character meet a perfect stranger and form a friendship, or we are going to know about her bestie or friend group out the gate. Sistah Girls are crucial in novel,s especially when a new guy is introduced or our favorite female character needs advice or a shoulder to lean on.
While romantic relationships always shine bright, friendships are just as important in a story because we get a chance to see how the characters are outside of their romantic partners.
Here is a list of some of my favorite female friendships in Urban novels…
Gold by Sarafini
Gold and India may be like night and day personality-wise–but one thing remains to be true, and that is their love for each other.
That’s All Me (Series) by Cion Lee
They say you meet your best friends in college, and that couldn’t be truer in this series. While navigating college life, relationships and growing pains, we also get to take a ride into the dynamics of friendships and the ups and downs of those journeys as well.
One Eighty by Charity Shane
Cousins are often our first friends, and that could not be truer for Rhian and Brie. They have the “if you jump, I jump” kind of relationship that everyone deserves to experience in a sisterhood.
12:01: A Delusional Enemies to Lovers Romance by Bella Jay
Do you have a friend who would bail you out even after you did what they told you not to? Well, Tyme did in this very wild ride of a book. Nene was the calm to Tyme’s storm, and she needed that.
The Duke Family by Miss J.
Urvi and Christina have seen each other go to hell and back through their different life struggles but one thing that remained intact was their relationship. There is nothing like having a best friend you can bear it all to without judgment.
Parachutes by Takerra Allen
While it is very clear that this love story focuses on the journey of Tahli and Dalvin, there is no mistaking that there is a prevalent theme of friendship throughout this series. It is beautiful to watch how these friendships change and develop over the course of time.
Sistah Girls, I hope you enjoyed this list and found a new story to read. Sisterhood is important so go on and hug your favorite Sistah Girl today and tell them how much you love and appreciate them. And slide them a book off this list lol.
