Black Literature in 2021…
Sistah Girls, we are celebrating Black Indie Authors Day (August 21st) and hosting our Behind the Pen virtually. I asked Nia Forrester and Nako to join me in conversation to discuss their work and take a closer look at how they’ve become successful independent authors.
Nia Forrester pulled me in with her Commitment series and I’ve been hooked to her work ever since. Nako has a way of telling an urban story like no one else on the planet but I have to say Is She The Reason was the story that did it for me.
I wanted to create a more intimate and up close (as up close as you can get through a computer screen) way for authors and readers to connect. I invited a few Sistah Girls (readers) in to listen to our conversation as it happened in real-time. That’s right we had a live (virtual) audience!
