The Sistah Girls Holiday Gift Guide

Sistah Girls, the holidays are here! Everything about the holidays makes me smile, from the movies to the holiday-themed books, this time of year really lifts my spirits.

However, there is always that one Sistah Girl, (I’m probably her) who loves books but is also looking for a little extra razzle-dazzle underneath the Christmas tree. She may be a simple Sistah Girl who loves a good mug and a book or the bougie Sistah Girl who loves wine with her books.

I’ve put together a list of Black-Owned brands that have some amazing items that will surely make great gifts for our bookish Sistah Girls.

Sistah Girls, Sesi Magazine is the only teen magazine for Black girls that’s currently on the newsstands. This is a Black woman-owned and independently-run magazine that amplifies our Black girls. You can subscribe for $15 a year or donate. It’s the perfect gift for a young Sistah Girl.

ReadHer Book Box

Of course, Sistah Girls who enjoy reading want books, but this is a book box for those of us who enjoy reading Black Romance specifically.

Gone are the days where we endlessly scroll trying to figure out what our next read is going to be, with ReadHer Book Box you get a book delivered to your door with dope items and treats inside. You literally can’t go wrong with giving this as a gift.

The BlackLit Box is a monthly book subscription box that caters to Black authors and entrepreneurs. What’s so dope about this subscription box is that you get to select the genre. After that, you tell them a little bit about yourself, (shirt size, etc.) and they do the rest.

Ivy’s Tea Co

Sis, we have raved about this tea since we first got our hands on it. We even did a listicle pairing Ivy’s tea flavors with Black romance novels. This tea is all of that and a bag of UTZ plain chips!

If you’ve never tried any of the flavors I’d recommend Blow and the cinnamon-flavored honey called “Side Piece,” you can thank me later.

WONDRY cocktail wines

WONDRY is leveling the playing field and taking the pretentiousness that comes with being a wine consumer out of the equation. Their fruit-fused wine and sangria collection gives us the fruity vibes we want and the buzz we also crave during the holiday season.

This wine company is owned and operated by a Texas wife and husband duo, so you’re getting Black Love in every bottle.

Taupe Coat is a vegan and cruelty-free nail care company that specializes in making your nails healthy from start to finish.

You know how some nail companies only offer the bomb nail colors? Well, Taupe Coat takes nail care to the next level by offering products to care for the nails under the polish.

Copper & Brass Paper Goods

I don’t know a woman alive who doesn’t love stationery, and Copper & Brass Paper Goods will have your workspace glowing. This company even has gift wrapping paper designed with us in mind–I love it! And they have licensed HBCU notebooks along with Black fraternity and sorority-themed stationery.

BLCK Candle Co.

Black At You

First, let me just say that I love the customer service with this company. I found their page by way of a friend and wanted a shirt but they were out of my size. I sent them a DM asking when would there be a restock, they messaged me back asking my size, I told them and they proceeded to let me know they had one more shirt in the size I wanted. Not only did they allow me to purchase it they send me a private link so no one else could grab it.

This was my first time ordering from them and it definitely won’t be my last time. Their designs feature our icons and what I love the most is that each of the designs has facts about the person being featured on the shirt. I grabbed the Madame CJ. Walker shirt and whenever my good sis Earth Kitt comes back in stock I’ll be ordering that one as well. This is definitely a brand to watch!

Golden Book Muse

Now you know our Sistah Girls want bookish clothing, and Golden Book Muse understood the assignment with their merchandise. If you’re a Black author, writer, publisher, illustrator, reader, or bookish content creator then this is the brand for you.

My favorite item on the site has to be their Black authors. Black illustrators Crewneck Sweatshirt. If you want to make a Sistah Girl who loves to read smile, grab something from their shop.

Trust Merch Co. by Calcie Co.

I stumbled onto this clothing line by total accident, but I’m glad I found it. The brand is all about wearing positive affirmations and I’m here for it. I specifically love their Trust Your Power hoodie.

Princess Treatment Only Beauty

I am always on the hunt to find a new beauty product that will not only smell good but also work. Princess Treatment Only has body scrubs, oils, and body butters that smell amazing.

But the product that I love the most is their Princess Glitter and Shimmer Eyeshadow palette. The packaging is so cute, it’s literally packaged as a gift, and the pigmentation is what separates this palette from the pack.

Modish Decor Pillows

Modish Decor Pillows will change any Sistah Girls reading space, the colors are vibrant, and you can create just about any tone and vibe with their plush pillows.

Sistah Girls, I hope this gift guide helps you to buy something for another Sistah Girl or for yourself. Have a safe and happy holiday!
